Rain, Rain Go Away!

DesertWords

A part of me says: "Oh, no.  Not today!"
How inconvenient!  It gets in the way
of errands I'll run, the places I go.
I guess I'm glad it isn't snow.

Rain is fine in its time and place,
essential, I know, to the human race,
but why today and all this week?
I'm getting madder as I speak!

The Boutique bags will be sopping wet.
I must put up the top on my new Corvette.
I'll ruin my designer labeled shoes.
See how much I've got to lose!

Rain, rain go away.
Isn't that what children used to say
when rain pelted down, they were stuck inside?
I'm sorry, but it's hard to hide

my disappointment, anger and pain,
all because of this untimely rain!
The downpour today I consider dumb!
I'll just sit on the floor and suck my thumb!

Why can't I have what I want today?
Why does rain have to get in the way?
I consider the timing very odd.
I think I shall have a talk with God.

It's been a while since we had a chat.
Sometimes I'll ask for this or that.
But today my message is very clear:
Make it rain somewhere else, away from here

because I have important things to do.
Apparently God didn't think this through.
So here I sit in my red Corvette.
I will not tolerate getting wet!
