Christmas

2781

Christmas is approaching fast,

I do find it a bit of a farce.

It's turned into another grab for cash,

So this year I think I'll give poetry a bash.

I could use some undies and a new pair of shorts,

But to choose for others is always fraught.

So this year to my loved ones I'll write them a poem,

Something personal that they may not have known.

Words that might make them feel cherished and loved.

In tune with the season,

A gift from above.

A personal poem is a nice touch. That would be a wonderful gift to receive. Nothing like knowing for sure you are appreciated and loved. A unique gift. Better than socks!

I must confess, this was inspired by someone else's poem, I can't remember the details but the inference was he was judge worthless for writing poetry.
      Well to hell with that.
      Thank you.

My shorts and socks arrive vis Father’s Day but an occasional pair slip in the Christmas stocking. Reminds me of my earthly sojourn while waiting for the Bundy clock from above to mark the end of this travail.

I will give them the worst present - I will sing to them! heehee.

      Completely agree with this.

I think one of yours inspired me?

There with you on this one mate.

Still, as a committed Christian (as you appear to be) have you no way of celebrating a babe popped out and into a manger which would adequately memorialise the legend?

Committed Christian I am, I don't need any special day to immortilise immortality.
But it is a good opportunity to get through the cracks.
You probably realise I'm not running with the pack.
