LONELY JOURNEY

Nyetoh Julitta

Journeying through the thick lonely paths of yesterday

I've come to a standstill

Reminiscing how I overcame the many bumps I dreaded

And daring the scariest voices in my head

The sight of the wild trees and the boars and the Lions

That scared to death my very young self

And the weariness of my tiny feet that could hardly carry me further

My throat of hunger and thirst, dry

All I could do;

Look up to the man upstairs

And prayed I cross over to the other side

So I fastened my strengths into my fragile heart

Uncertain of the miles of obstacles that await me!
