SELF CAGED

Pat Malone

She's ridiculed by her mate to whom she's cawer. What others perceive is the wreath of her deeds but within her is a wounded heart, chastened vindictiveness, and unsatisfied needs. Love to Her is a fairytale set to overwhelm the young and naive. Her turmoil is not purgatory but till infinity, as she vowed. Cocooned with fear, rage gnawing up her insides. She has aged yet young. Her meek countenance but with a wrinkled heart. Suffering, chewing her every bone. She'd be flaccid but her kids are her skeletal. This wasn't what she signed up for. But evil damned her dear and since then happiness is no more.
