For a moment her eyes glistened with tears
tears full of unsaid words
how she longed for more
how she wishes they were hers
but she writhed in fear
Choosing instead to hold them dear
That's enough she'd say
But when the night transforms into day
She'd be in dismay
A hand on a glass and an open pour
drinking the clear liquid in the glass
Downing it with such crass
She who was blindly in love
with a boy who's never understood what he always had
For a moment weakness took and her eyes glistened with tears
She squeezes her eyes shut but no matter how she resisted
Her eyes exposed the voice within crying
She was dying.
