Feel

E Naughton

The sun does not need to tell you of its beauty,

As it rises above the earth unbidden.

As birds sing beautiful songs,

Sounds fade as memories are made.

Don't say a word, not one,

Or three,

 Let me bear witness,

As leaves fall free.

Bear witness to what I cannot un-feel,

 Unlike words,

Or the sounds of shallow streams.

Sailing into certain silence.

 Slowly fading,

As if a world before words,

 I will feel.
