Hear With Your Eyes

Meagan

Can you even tell when I say hi?
Through our lack of contact
Or when I struggle with goodbye?

Are you not seeing the pleas in my speech
Can you not hear the distance in my eyes
All our silence full of little, insistent shrieks

Fake smiles, apparently my forte
Our singular heartbeat became erratic
Distance I put between us, dying to say

I’m struggling again
