Vestiges of Madness

Katdream

Secluded in torment’s encasement
Wild mouths fluttering
While screaming eyes
search for respite
among the lifeless
held fast by past insurgencies
revolutions not wrestled
with trembling fingers
and barefaced glances

releasing pain
from lives spent
endlessly grieving
expelling webs of odium
and retribution
entangled in realms of despair
releasing tentacles of misery
enfold the pure of heart
as insanity arises

scrounging appendages
ingests the essence of youth
covetous and restless
unsolicited visitant
this rendezvous with lunacy
sounds your name
drags you under
feeds on you
shamelessly
