In the Company of Joy

@merci

Time is running I see,

But I am struck in one place,

The clouds are moving,

But I am still in one place,

Even the birds’ songs are ringing in my ears as they move away.

Still, I am stuck in one place,

They are singing and flying away,

Away from me who looks like a statue,

But there is one which is not moving.

I first thought it was a flower,

But after a few seconds I realized it was bird,

His songs were different from other birds’ song.

He was blue feathered,

His eyes were full of hope for me,

While I don’t have a hope for myself.

I tried to shove him away because I am dangerous,

But he is still singing his beautiful song,

I am throwing stones at him,

But still, he doesn’t seem threatened by my attitude towards him.

“Why is he going away” I am wondering,

He is still here,

I started to panic.

Why is he stuck with me?

While there is no one else who wants to be on my side.

I wanted to ask him why?

But the birds don’t talk,

They just sing and he is singing.

Singing songs of joy

I continued to look at him and a smile curved on my lips,

I smiled at how he was dancing to his songs,

As I started to dance with him,

He was amazing.

I danced and smiled for what felt like years,

I was never happy in my life like this,

I looked like I had no problem at all.

I was happy for sure.

After some time, realization hit me,

That this was my first time smiling in the last few years,

I realized that I never gave a chance for happiness to consume me.

I found out that a mere bird had made my day,

So, I decided to take him home,

Because within him I saw the beauty of friends,

Within him I saw how beautiful my smile was,

With him I realized how I was amazing

With him I am complete
