Do You Love Me?

mtrotter1

If we fall from trees

In the breeze

And one rose is left...

Then what is our fate anyway?

I wonder as I fall asleep

And when I am down

Do you think of me?

This weird analogy that is love

Makes no sense,

For what is love without the other

And the other without love?

For I would jump off a building for you

If you asked...

Do you love me enough

To spare me?

A hundred years from now

We will be souls in the wind,

Yet I love you still

My heart is my heart

And yours is yours--

What fire still burns within you?

Do you love me still,

Or do you need to suffocate?

For this analogy is nonexistent--

For love is a speeding car

And the crash is worth the risk,

Or is it a burning building

That mutually exists?

One dares to wonder...
