Rain

mtrotter1

Your tears

Are my tears,

What is your greatest fear?

For I fear losing you

For I will drown for you

And touch the stars

And the streets are perfect

I wonder why

Because the sun

Is not near...

Dear diary

Will you eat my words

Tonight?

Will you sell my soul

For food?

For I am dying in this rain,

This rain that keeps me in vain

For the love of my life

Is in a strain...

Rain, rain

Go away

For you have drowned many souls

For love.

  • Comment from author about the poem: What if love was just perfect in every way? What if love didn't have any drama or chaos? What if every day was just sunny and bright? This is a screwed up world we are living in, but I must say, keep fighting the good fight. For the good fight means staying alive. Rain is not just the rain, but the many dark days we experience, and the grieving, and the loss of hope. But there are also the sunny days, I hope. If you are feeling down about love, you are truly not alone. We all want to be loved, but sometimes we choose the wrong people. Love yourself first and set some boundaries for yourself. For love conquers all if you love yourelf.

It’s all about balance. Too much sun and you would become parched. We need the rain in our lives too. Relationships aren’t perfect. They have their strains. It helps if we have some elastic in the cupboard. I enjoyed your poem and the shape of its presentation. Thank you.
