Say

2781

Laying here with nothing to say

A drink and a smoke at the end of the day

Chocolate ice cream

As I lay in the cool

Another day over

For this grateful fool.

Ahh yes, your December is like our June here in UK. What's it like?!
My poem would go something like:
Sitting here by the fire on a dark wintry night. But we've not had it too wintry.
I will be nice to you - I doubt you're a biblical 'fool' - it means one who is wickedly spiritually blind.
If we call each other 'fool' we're in danger of hell fire, or similar. Argh!

Very hot down here, scorching in the sun.
Not exactly hell but a good reminder!

      Whatever it takes to soothe!
