Happy Place

John Lee

Voices.. chatter and noises

It's all I hear anymore

Worries and fears, struggles and fights

All over nothing that matters

Questions.. when the answers change nothing

Anxiety is high so I close my eyes

Take a deep breath then there

It's a cool breezy evening

Steam lifting from my cup

The sun setting beneath the sea

Leaving only it's remnant

Golden clouds fading into blue

The only sound..

Is waves reaching their limits

Seagulls flying in for the night

The slide of a tortoise returning to its nest

Take a sip.. yeah just right, bold coffee

Creamy and mildly sweet just like I like

What I wouldn't give to live here

I call it peace but some would say..

Superb use of imagery to paint the scene.

We all need a place in our mind to escape to when the going gets tough. Your posted image is a beauty. The ocean can soothe . Your words here had me drifting to my favourite place in Devon UK.
