Unwanted

markziff

Over your shoulder,

You look back at me,

You smile warmly,

Excited for what may be.

My smile reassuring,

Our hands part with soft sway,

Me heart goes with you,

As you walk away.

Yet please don't look back,

Because my tears will show,

They'll spoil this moment,

I will miss you so.

In the end all  done & said,

I want you happy to be content,

I want no sadness no regrets,

My emotions invested are all spent.

For I know & fear

This unwanted may be,

Farewell my one true love,

Goodbye to thee.

Emotion conveyed well here. Partings are sorrowful, but to part wishing the best for the other is such a loving and considerate thing to do. A fine poem. Thank you.
