They are taking out the furniture
From the  house down the street
The family of three children
What future will they meet ?

Both parents working
Kids do well at school
The rent rise a step too far
This is the Uk gloom.

Over 131 thousand children
Living in temporary room dispair
While the rich are 31 times richer
With a government that doesnt care.

4.2 million kids in poverty
In the 6th richest economy in the world
Merry Xmas if youre rich
The poor can go elsewhere.

Sadly this has now become all too common and is nothing short of a National scandal. Working people should be able to afford their rent. Our taxes aren’t being used wisely. A shortage of homes in a vastly over populated country. That causes stuff like this to happen. Tragic, at Christmas time in particular. Your poem touches the heart of anyone who has a heart.

Thought you described Australia for a moment...
        Well said.
