I Dream Memories

John Lee

The old swing still creeks

To the slightest breeze

I listen for your laughter

You’d kept saying go higher

I'd push more than I could stand

Your old closet still full

Of clothes I can't pull

You always hated that dress

Stood on stage scared to death

My tears were of a proud man

You hugged my neck

Said I love you daddy

I wished you the best

I wish that had happened

None of that's true

I recreated you

To a better goodbye

To make up the times

I wasn't by your side

I dream memories

That takes away the pain

I dream memories

That you love me again

Yeah I dream memories

As if you'd remember me
