Betrayal

Ro_mannova

You lived with me but loved me never.
And you offended me when you left.
Although I am happier than ever,
Happier than you could've felt.
I love your father and mother.
The treasure of two kind hearts
Where did you learn to betray, however?
To reach the top of self-regard.
Can't you answer, or can you?
But life will respond for us.
You won't be referred as Daddy one day.
By the child you left behind.
Years will pass, and a grown son
Who will never forgive you
Who will have a beard too long
To not look like his betrayer.
The thread of life broke forever.
What was here is no longer there.
You aren't able to chat, however.
With the daughter, you left, my dear
