Trying to Speak

PaperFlowerFields

If I could just
Say this plainly
Instead of only having
These riddles
Theses lines

All cagey
So staged

Stanzas dance across pages

Waltzing words I can't make myself say

Stand here stuttering

Words I can write brilliantly
But can't make out to
You

Finding myself unsure
Unclear
But knowing a couple things

Like the only thing scarier
Then falling from the sky
Is suddenly realizing you never had
The ability to stand on your own

I'm stuck here on my star
Looking out
Unsure how this...will...go...

You've made sure I never grew
So I would be just
So afraid to fly

So many tears
Shed
Just because I want to leave

I keep putting it off
And putting itoff
And trying to get away

I can't just stay...here
Trapped in this nest
Comfortable feathers tarred on
Unkempt and unclean
As I hope for a good time
To escape

But it never comes
You're always off
I'm always gone
I'm always worried
I'm always...scared...

How do I fix
This problem I made
For myself
