Broken waves

Jayita Basak

I drown,
Drown profoundly in him
That I inhale the forgotten love
And gulp the fear of being unloved.

I drown in his eyes
That pinches me to accept his absence.
The shy kisses now feels dry on me,
The fulgent nights now seems jinxed to me.
Afterall why?

I drown in his portraits
That I had painted on his birthday,
That I had painted in my heart the first day,
That I had kept in my darling diary,
That my soul cries holding back...
