A young man joins the Army
The Soldier is filled with pride, love, since of duty
The Soldier attends Basic Training and Job Training Being the best he can be
The Soldier is assigned to his first duty station
A war breaks out, he is told he’s going to war
The Soldier is scared yet so full of love for his country
The Soldier doesn’t realize his life has ended as he knows it
The soldier doesn’t know he will have a war in his head
The Soldier will soon find out he will be living in hell
The Soldier will be battling a Demon known as PTSD, a battle that can’t be won

- Comment from author about the poem: The Soldier I’m referring to is myself, but every Soldier deals with the war on PTSD in their on way and is at different stages of the healing process.
