For a living

Alan R

Do you like this fire? me burning in love...

Does it keep your house warm?

Perhaps it does, it's a decent fire

You awakened it, I nurtured it well

Does it keep your house warm?

Perhaps it does, it's a decent fire

The light from it, led the way forward

Does it keep your house warm?

Perhaps it does, it's a decent fire

You know, poems might sell for 20 EUR a book

Will it keep my house warm?

Perhaps it won't, it's still a descent fire!

-If only I could, burn for a living

I like poems that ask questions. The repetitive asking of the one question gives great emphasis and provokes more thought.

Yes, I am usually always looking for answers... can't help it
