The Unknown Lover

Meera Mere

Every day I write you letters, not knowing your name or face.

Every day I dream you in colors, not knowing your shape or shade.

Every day I appreciate you for your soul, not knowing your heart or mind.

Every day I imagine you beside me, not knowing your touch or taste.

Every day I curse myself, knowing you may never know me.

Every day I feel a void, not knowing how to fill it.

Every day I look for you, not knowing where to find you.

Every day I find myself lost, not knowing where I belong.

Every day I freshen my wounds, not knowing how to heal them.

Every day I pretend to be normal, not knowing what normal is.

Every day I cry for you, not knowing if you care.

Every day I wonder if you exist, if you know me as much as I know you.
