They Had Green Eyes

Matcha4

They had green eyes,
(Like moss)
Pretty hair,
They'd dyed it too.
(Green and white)
They had a smile that could light up the world,
(I loved it)
We were friends
(I wanted to be more)
We did art together.
(They were always better)
We liked the same music.
(We listened to it late at night)
We went stargazing once.
(I gazed at them)
They made my stomach fluttery
(I am in love)
Why did they make me feel this way?
(I am in love with them)
We went to the arcade yesterday.
(It felt like a date)
They lent on my shoulder on the drive home,
(It was comforting)
We went home.
(I didn't want it to end)
Then they kissed me on the cheek,
(It happened)
And ran away.
I chased after them,
And said,
(Shouted)
I think I love you.
(I love you)
We looked at eachother and laughed,
(They looked so pretty)
We had liked eachother.
(Since the beginning)
Who knew?
I love them,
They love me.
Love is nice,
I like being in love

I really like this poem. Really well written and very effective. Love the use of brackets and the last line was just perfect.
