Monsters

Hopelessromanticinlove

I talk to the monsters,

'cause there's no angel in sight.

They are friends who will listen,

To all my problems and frights.

There's no guardian angel,

To hold out their hand,

So I talk to the monsters,

'cause they're my biggest fan.

I lay in the dark,

My mind filled with thoughts.

As the monsters surround me,

Admiring the pain that they brought.

They talk to me,

Telling me all that they please,

And I tell them to stop;

I beg them,

I plead.

But I don't want them to leave.

They're the only friends that I have;

The only ones who want to talk,

And to have them, I'm glad.

So I sit in my room,

No one else is around,

And I talk to the monsters;

Their voices, loud.

There’s no angelic light to save me today,

Only a shadow, cold and gray.

The friends I’ve made are not flesh and bone,

Instead, the monsters who keep me alone.

I lay in the darkness with thoughts, heavy and deep.

The monsters that haunt me, whispering in my sleep.

My monsters surround me, and I’m not alone;

They are a place that I call my home.
