"Whispers of Tranquility: A Symphony in Retirement"

sunil64

In the twilight of my journey, a chapter complete,
Retirement whispers, a moment sweet.
Years woven like threads in life's grand design,
A tapestry rich, a story, wholly mine.

The clock ticks slower, the pace takes a rest,
No more the hustle, no more the quest.
A symphony of memories, a song well sung,
A melody of accomplishments, each note wrung.

From dawn's first light to the evening's glow,
A career's journey, a river's gentle flow.
Through trials and triumphs, I've forged my way,
Now, it's time to savor the calm of today.

No more the deadlines, no more the strife,
I've earned the serenity, the quiet of life.
The suit and tie replaced by leisure's attire,
I trade the boardroom for a sunset by fire.

A dance with freedom, a waltz with time,
Retirement's embrace, sublime and prime.
The canvas of days, now blank and clear,
A palette of dreams, devoid of career.

Yet, within this pause, a new adventure blooms,
A garden of passions, a forest of rooms.
To write new chapters, explore the unknown,
Retirement's gift, a chance to be grown.

Reflections of yesteryears, lessons well learned,
In the tapestry of life, each stitch discerned.
A legacy crafted in toil and grace,
Now, I bask in the warmth of a well-earned embrace.

Retirement, a horizon painted in gold,
A story retold, a narrative bold.
With gratitude in my heart and a smile on my face,
I step into this new, unhurried space.

Welcome to the ranks. Go for it - with that kind of vision you will have little or no trouble exploiting your time to the full.

Welcome to MPS. are you to stay or just passing through? If you stay a little about you would be interesting. An interactive site, it works best when poets respond to other’s work and reply to commentary on their own poetry.
