In lying she could open herself up to it for real - bad influences, etc.
My panic is that I'm a sandwich short of a picnic, as they say. I lost a ham sandwich! lol.
I guess it's still up for debate if she lied or not, but more than likely, such a strange story overall.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall not escape.
Indeed, such a bizarre thing to lie about though.
