The Thrill

B. Frost

A tradition established before we can remember
The best time of the year is August through December

Taking the field after the spring game
To face an opponent that did just the same

The climate is changing a new feel in the air
Saturday football for our country to share

The expectations are high for every fan   Hoping that this year we have a winning plan

Tailgating enthusiasts from locations far and wide
Wearing team gear with head-to-toe pride

Kicking off the season with kinks still in play
Better next week we think then we say

Orange on the stage with epic guests and crew
Saturday wouldn’t be the same in a setting without you

The weeks press on with passion until the end
Cheering coast to coast for our very next win

Classic commentary to our ears from the tele
Iconic calls that include Whoa Nellie

Rivals in each division with heritage in full play
Hoping the conference championship will soon be on display

The air brings changes the colder that it gets
Fans rally together as victory proudly fits

The New York stage brings the best that’s in the game
Some winners at the next level are in the Hall of Fame

The College Football Playoff has evolved from the BCS
Talent and teamwork are two ingredients of success

The holiday season brings friends and family together
So many great memories made on a day that lasts forever

The season comes and passes with one winner on top of the hill
A seven-month wait before we can again relive the thrill

Many a man and nowadays women too love the thrill of supporting their football team. I enjoyed the enthusiasm here. Very well penned in my humble opinion. I enjoyed my visit.
