Do you like you? All of you completely? The good? The bad? The pretty and the ugly? Do you like you? Your wins? Your fails? Your darkest times? The times you prevailed? Do you like you? Without the make- up on? In your sweatpants and t-shirt? Do you like the face that that smile is on? If you don’t like you, the world will tell you all that’s wrong. It will convince you you’ve been the problem all along. So I ask you again; do you like you? Don’t allow society to break you in.

I was in that film, ya know. I played 3 parts - the good, the bad, and the ugly. No wait, KP played the ugly. heehee.
When will this degrading of KP stop? asks Fido. lol.
I couldn't bear seeing KP without her make-up on! lol.
lol 😂 stop it!!!!
I am terrible to her, and not in the old-fashioned sense of 'terrible' meaning 'awesome'!
I add water to whisky etc, so I say - poets shoot me for it. One Halloween (when else?) KP hid the water. I got tipsy and said 'I do' and it's been downhill since then! lol.
I'll tell you, I really like this poem of yours. 🙂👍 Me? In recent years I've been liking myself much more than I used to. 🤔
Sounds good. Some think liking yourself makes you selfish; I no longer feel that way.
It can be a hard pill to swallow when you've many regrets in life. Things I did or didn't do, or did or didn't say. I laugh when I hear people say they have no regrets. Everyone has regrets whether they admit them or not.
Everyone certainly has regrets. I know I do. You’re right though; some can’t admit it.
And yep - I reckon I'm an OK sort of guy - or gal, if I was a gal! 🙂
Self love and self acceptance are keys to survival and sanity.
Good write!
Thank you! 🙏 you’re right there.
