IMMORTAL ROSE

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

There is a rose
Which never dies
Pressed between pages
Of a broken heart.

In a suspended sky
A tear filled eye
Frozen in time
As years roll by.

My comments on the poem "Immortal rose” by nephilim56
The rose is said to be a symbol of love. This rose here is immortal; it never dies. Sometimes people keep a dried rose petal between two pages in a book. This heart metaphorically has pages. A rose is kept between the pages of the heart. The heart is a broken one.
A suspended sky probably signifies that life has stopped in time. Tear-filled eye denotes paid and suffering. “Frozen in time” : life moves on, but this being himself cannot do so. He remains frozen in his memories. The years go by, but he is stuck in past memories. Soman Ragavan. 11 January, 2024.
