Margaret

mtrotter1

Someday soon the balloon

Will go higher and higher,

And into the sky it will radiate

I see your face from above--

Oh how beautiful

You are to me,

I'll never see your face again

For the birds will carry you to heaven--

I can't wait to see you again.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Oh dearest Margaret, your smile lit up the room every time I saw you. When we volunteered together, you told me I was going to move on to bigger and better things. I miss your sarcasm, your wit, your laugh. I miss how you made me feel. For there can only be one Margaret. You were a unique experience in my life for just that short moment. You made me see a lot of things that I didn't see before. It was sort of like you were trying to warn me in some way. There are very few people in this world that are very bright lights, and your bright light shined. Keep shining your bright light wherever you are. You are the truth, and the truth carries weight. And the truth also carries a profound depth. Thank you, Margaret, for being the highlight of my experience. Volunteering is a great way to meet good people, and also learn more about myself. In all honesty and sincerity, I really respect my elders. This may not be much of a poem...it is just a sincere feeling. I have never met anyone like you, and I never will again. God will take care of you, and he will make sure my thoughts go out to you. For you are beautiful, Margaret. And you always will be. Thank you.

A lovely heartfelt tribute to Margaret. A kind soul who made a difference to the lives of others. Nicely written.
