Young and curious
Always in search of adventure
To learn the unknown
Daring to enter
Watching the Sunset
He wonders of days to come
Of cowboys, astronauts and baseball
His dreams all rolled into one
Hypnotized by firelight
He tries to foresee the years
Where to go to
Which way to steer
What quests await him
Finding the confidence to chase
And the patience to learn
The meaning of time and space
Not so fast young one
All good things in time
Slow down and enjoy your life
And remember to read between the lines

The thirst for adventure as a child comes through beautifully here. But so keen were we to grow up. I can remember counting on my fingers as a six year old. I am six. I have four more to go till I am ten:)Wishing your life away and now I want to be back there:) Livrky poetry. Much enjoyed.
Golden days Cassie. Glad you enjoyed. 😁👍

Good write AP.
KP never slows down for her botox. lol.
Supersonic Botox eh? 😁
Yep, dashes to the clinic every spare minute she has. lol.
Hopefully before they run out of Botox right? Or they'll run out when she leaves. 😁
Dearest A.P isn't it true that when we are young we want to grow up immediately and then when we are older we wish to be back at school lol very cute. 🤗
Yes Teddy, very true. I've often thought the exact same thing. Somehow, we exchange our desires between our youth and adulthood without even knowing it. I think when we're young we don't appreciate our younger years for what they are, and quite possibly the same can be said of our adult years. But in reality, all our years are meaningful. But we do seem to focus on particular years that we want. Human nature I guess. Thank you my friend for reading and your unique observation. 😉
Incredible pic you've chosen to accompany this poem. The wonder and curiousity of childhood is just the beginning. We are blank pages, eager to fill the book of our story with experiences. Your last stanza is a beautiful summation of the impatience to have all at once. Loved the whole package!
Thanks Bella, I had a great video picked out for this poem, but although you can click on it in YouTube to watch it, copy and pasting it doesn't work well. I've seen this before. Oh well. But thank you for reading and your compliment. 😊
Such true words AP, youngsters want to move so fast and often forget to relax and enjoy life.
Andy
Thanks Andy. Many kids these days grow up too fast, often pushed by their parents because the parents want their kids to follow certain paths. And the kids don't get to live the childhood years that are very essential to growing up.
