I didn’t want to break someone's heart,
But I had to from the start.
I don't know who to choose,
I chose him, but I still lose.
I know we haven’t talked since that night,
Not knowing if it was right.
Each memory is a blur,
But I imagine you’re still here.
One was mad in love,
But it didn’t matter.
One was feeling epic.
While the other was my forever.
My blood is pumping faster,
I wonder who will be mine.
But they both stole my heart,
As I drank my cherry wine.
They could rip me apart,
I’d have to be smart.
One said he was supposed to be mine,
Therefore, he was my cherry wine.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem is about a girl who is in love with two boys. The girl, who is in love with both boys, talks about how each of them is unique in her eyes and thoughts before making her decision. Even though it means losing the other in the process. This poem is inspired by the classic love triangle trope!
