Love in Bytes and Swipes

Ruchikagrawal

In the world where people are trapped behind the screens,

The trending way of finding love is by the "swipes".

In this era of binary codes and algorithm,

Finding true love seems an impossible task, a far fetched idea almost out of this realm.

Having profiles on all the dating applications,

She did have a lot of charming conversations.

But alas! it always turned out to be fake,

Leaving her everytime with a deep heartache.

Tired and exhausted, she was almost on the verge of signing off,

But her phone buzzed and a notification had turned up.

An old swipe had texted her "Hi",

Reluctantly, she decided to give it one last try.

Chats started as usual but soon vibes seemed to meet,

A story with such an easy start, seemed too good to exist.

Finally, he asked her to meet in person

She agreed but with a lot of hesitation.

Would it go forward or end up in yet another heartache?

A decision truly hard to make.

Next day they met on their date,

In the heart of the city, in a bustling café.

While she liked her coffee sweet, he liked it bitter and strong,

Apparently, they were poles apart and might not belong.

She liked the AC hot while he preferred it chilly cold,

Seemed like yet another heartache beginning to unfold.

They started to talk and Lo and behold! There was a lot of common ground,

Turns out he was from the same neighborhood where she was around.

Refreshing old memories and in the chit chats hours went by,

He did start to seem like "The Guy".

Both were reluctant to leave and decided to linger,

They had extended their coffee date to dinner.

Then they went for a walk and time just seemed to fly,

Strangely enough, there seemed to be more bright stars in that night sky!!!

In her heart she knew he was her Mr. Right,

Finally it seemed worth it all: the hassles and the plight.

With him there was that comfort zone,

Something which she had barely known.

And for him, with her everything felt a bit easy,

He could be in his own skin, without any show off or the need to be too cheesy!

They do say "Opposites attract",

But do they last? She had always doubted that fact.

Often it is that 'something common' in between,

That seems to fit perfectly right into the routine.

Neighborhood guys meeting in the digital world,

It did seem that for each other's soul they had yearned.

An elaborate plan destined to be executed at the right time,

HE, Himself, now seemed to be the architect of this PERFECT design!!!
