We can

2781

There's nothing we can do,

But we can't do nothing.

Caught up in an evil time the rulers of this world have taken our spine.

Enslaving the people with their reforms,

While dropping bombs with no remorse.

Hypocrisy is on display,

And all the time we are the prey.

Paying for this evil coarse

With inflated egos

Totally divorced

From the one who cares.

We can't do anything

Let His Spirit abide

In our hearts

On our minds.

It's not democratic

Opposition can't win.

With God on our side,

Here's the thing...

One gives flight to a thousand

And two,

× ten.

Do the calculations it doesn't take much to win.

And the best thing is we don't have to strive.

Not by might,

Not by power.

Praise Him we're alive!

So me I'll just do nothing

But this we all should know

That when we seek his righteousness

All evil has to go.

    Good write 2.
Now me next poem, being all opposite: 'We cannot'. Doh! lol.
I stagger back in amazement at the inspiration for poem titles that you give me. heehee.

Definitely challenging times we live in 2781. I penned a similar piece myself this morning. Must be something in the air. πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

This poem reminds me of the dangerous times we find we are living in. Individually, we can do nothing. Our elected leaders can do everything to make matters far worse, if the situation isn’t handled with care. How will they fare? Will we ever live in peace? Enjoyed your lines this morning. .

Good and evil are the same interchangeable face .

full of frank truths, keen insight & satire .. plus a slight religious undertone .. nevertheless I am glad I could appreciate the full flavour ..
