Home

Tayama

Can you please come home?

The little girl next door who laughs…I can’t seem to hear her voice anymore.

Why are you not home?

The last CD you put in, plays all the time.

I dare not change it…this is your home.

Why am I alone?

Did you forget where you live. Are you lost?

I should go find you, but I dare not leave.

What if you come home?

And I’m not here and you’ll leave again.

Your best friend came by last week.

She seems worried about me.

She smiled for a bit, and then cried.

I don’t know why she did.

Nor why you are so mad at me. Because you must be, because you’re not home.

Your brother thinks I’m strange that I wear your scarf, but it smells like you.

You were always a bit strange to…and that’s why I fell in love with you on that day.

I was 19 and you were 24.

You told me I was man for I held open the door. For you…on that day as you passed me into the store.

At that moment I understood what love was for the very first time.

Never wanting another love for I knew that you would be mine.

But you’re not home and I can’t do this anymore alone. It’s been far too long.

I think I know where you are.

Should I take that journey to see you there?

I believe many would be sad.

But my sadness only grows, and I cannot bear for you not to be here.

I don’t want to be in this home alone…I want to be there where you are.

I’ll let you know soon if I leave this empty home and come to join you in what will be our new home.

“Heaven”. For I know you are there, for my angel would simply be nowhere else…but there.

Should I? Please let me know, so I can be with you my love, in whatever place that will be called…

“Our Home”
