Alive

B. Frost

It doesn’t take much effort to dull an individual shine
I mean just because your opinion differs from mine

He doesn’t like this and she doesn’t like that
Today those are grounds for calling one to the mat

Not terribly long ago that used to be just fine  It’s crazy where we are at this point in our time

Flags on trucks defiling God’s people
May want to reconsider the church with the steeple

Could you imagine seeing that in the time of President Reagan
Not a chance in hell because the U.S. wasn’t playing

The keyboard has stolen our integrity character and soul
Until the ugliness finally decides to take its toll

Casting stones has turned into throwing bricks Let’s open everybody’s closet and see the dirt in each bag of tricks

Aggressive posturing like stance position argument or debate
About twenty-five years ago we would simply talk or conversate

Everyone is looking for someone else to blame That doesn’t matter it won’t move the needle in the game

Take accountability and pride in what we do
Make a better world with respect between us two

Come together stand as one and together we will survive
Say your prayers sleep well tonight and spread joy while being alive
