Broken

13LaurenD

Sometimes it takes everything to fall apart, in order for things to start falling back together,

And it may look devastating, but that is the only way that things will ever get better.

The good thing about hitting rock bottom means that there is no lower that you can go,

And you are able to rebuild yourself with things that you now know.

Things that you didn't know before, but this time will help you get ahead,

And you become stronger from all of the blood and the tears that you shed.

Instead of looking at your scars from a place of despair,

You are now able to look at them from the things that were meant to break you, but you were able to repair.

And now you look at your scars and smile because you were stronger than what tried to break you,

And you laugh because you are stronger than everything that they tried to put you through.

And even though it was hard, you knew that you were able to come out on top,

Because no matter what life puts you through, you were not going to stop.

It's hard to let you go off your past and start anew,

Because your past can control you and you remind you of everything that you have been through.

But you can't go move on if you keep repeating the same mistakes,

And it is okay to start again after taking a break.

And when you come back, you are going to be better than ever,

And this time you will not allow yourself to go back there, because you now you are more clever.

And as hard as it was, you learned and you pushed yourself through it,

Because you forced yourself to keep going, even when you wanted to quit.

You knew that one day, you would be standing on the other side,

And now, you have nothing left to hide.

Even though you thought you wouldn't, you did it, and you were able to survive,

And now it it your time to thrive.
