The Tiger (unfinished)

emptypot

In our hedge is a tiger’s lair

It stares and bares its teeth so white

It bites and chews at abandoned shoes

And growls in the night

Even dad won’t fetch my toys

Among the bones of the silly boys

They heard a scuffling on the ground

But they went too close when the moon was round

  • Comment from author about the poem: I found this in a file of unfinished thoughts. I wrote it a while ago for a friend to read to his young daughters - but I never finished it or polished it. Perhaps it will inspire someone to add a verse
