There was a time

David Wakeling

There was a time, before the Storm,
When faeries danced in a ring,
Summer was cool and Winter was warm.
And little elves loved to sing.

Take me back, let me go there,
To that time when life was good.
When every flower would sway in the air,
As all good flowers should.

There was a place before the awakening,
Where people were kind.
And hearts were open and not threatening,
And joy was all you could find.

So take me back, let me go there,
to the place where life was good,
Before the promise was broken in the air,
And Hope was shattered like a piece of wood.

An enchanting poem. Speaks to me about another time, another place, sadly gone. Lovely stanzas, your lines flow well, are laden with delightful imagery and are nicely rhymed. The ending alas, a sad one.

A lovely poem with superb rhymes,
The poet has given a marvelous poem,
        With colossal meaning to ruminate,
Thank you poet for this beauty !
