When Freedom itself becomes politicized
that

Letting up
provides
the tightest
grip
Creating
space for
credence
to stick
Room
to wander
room
to grow
Space
when sacred
truth
— to know

My comments on the poem "Kill shot” by Kurt Philip Behm
“When Freedom itself becomes politicized that — is the death of America”
This says that freedom should remain outside the realm of politics and should not be something that is toyed around by politics.
“Letting up provides the tightest grip.” This might seem paradoxical at first sight, but it is still full of wisdom and reality. By coiling yourself around something or somebody, you are in fact imprisoning and limiting yourself. The tighter you exert your control, the more you tie yourself down and the more you lose control over the other guy or situation. By letting up, you gain your own freedom and this in turn increases your power. “Bien vu,” as we say in French.
“Creating space for credence to stick.” The more you get involved and the closer you get, the narrower becomes your perspective. The tighter control you exert, the more you tie yourself down. You must move back in every sense of the term in order to see the larger picture and to acquire objectivity. Giving space also increases your credibility and keeps your mind clear. Others, too, need space and don’t want to be stifled down.
“Room to wander room to grow.” You cannot grow by tying yourself down. To improve, to grow, you need space, in more sense than one. “The greatest step is that out of doors.” Quoted in : Sam Phillips : "3000 proverbs." New Delhi : Goodwill Publishing House, c 2017. Full acknowledgements are made to the authors, publishers and rights-holders. Others cannot grow or progress if they are kept tied down.
Great, impressive, down-to-earth philosophy here, Kurt… You have been on this site for eight years and you have about 2121 poems to your credit… Soman Ragavan. 27 January, 2024.
