Where Time Really Does Stand Sill

Teddy.15

My most favorite clock

is the one that lives in my attic

it’s really old and doesn't have hands

ironically time took its toll

I don't mind though

sometimes I go up just to see it

not ticking and not moving

I sit and reflect on the fact time is literally standing still

at least that is what I want to believe

and every moment that passes

I feel i'm cheating time itself

having a deep love affair with denial

all the while knowing that sooner or later

i'll have to leave my beloved clock

and go back down to where life still moves

and chimes still make an entrance on the hour

but for now, just for the next few minutes

i'll sit quietly reflecting with my moment of stillness

where time really does stand still.

Hello dear John, welcome to my page, and a huge thank you for coming by today. We sure do need these moments don't we. Thank you so much. 🤗

Teddy, I just love this picture, is this really your attic? I love the way the light comes in through the windows and lights up the room. I don't see the clock, but I also love how you describe your fondness of the clock and room. If only walls could talk. Almost like there's an unseen poem in that room waiting to be read. Excellent Teddy. 😉👍

Dearest A.P I used art by Saatchi I also have a great picture of a clock without hands which inspired this poem but I thought would be more intriguing using the attic instead. Thank you so much dear friend. 🤗

Time stands still in our minds once in a while although it seems to race at other times. Maybe time is just an invention of the human mind, other animals don't seem to worry about it. Thought provoking write Teddy.
