Where do you go to
When your heart needs to bleed
Drops of blood as words on the page
Your heart’s story to read
There in your writer’s den
Or somewhere outdoors
A place where your thoughts are free
And they know what they’re for
As you tap into your heart
Your Muse waits for you there
To search elusive words
That your soul needs to bare
You may draw upon the darkness
Or invite the light
When you find what you searched for
You’ll be employed to write
In the theater of love
A song on center stage
As you cry your heart out
Let it land upon the page
You were born to be a poet
Of this you’ll not deny
When it comes without effort
No need to wonder why
So go where you will
Search the universe of your heart
For when you put pen to paper
Your most beautiful art

Good write AP.
Ahh, the title not referring to KP's 'beauty of old trouts'?! lol.
For you Orchi, yes. π

Yes Andy, I believe you're right. Thank you for stopping by and your comment. π
Utterly beautiful rhyme and all dear A.P. π
Thanks Teddy, I'm happy you approve. π
I'm a bit of a sentimentalist so the first stanza
"Where do you go to
When your heart needs to bleed
Drops of blood as words on the page
Your heartβs story to read"
sucked me in. A great write that states what most of us feel.

I agree soren, and I believe that's how it came to me. Thank you for stopping by with your very insightful compliment/comment. π
Such is this art of ours .. You just nailed poetry and poets mate ..
ooh sorry, that nail is gonna leave a mark. π
It is there inside you, in the nooks and crannies of your being, waiting to be discovered and set free. Beautiful words dear poet, written as only one who loves his craft can.
And that I do, thank you Bella. π
I had to stop at the first four lines, breathe, feel, soak it in, then read it furthur and it continued like that, almost every four lines...its brilliant
Thank you Alan, I had to reread my own poem to understand what you were referring to. Glad it had a positive effect on you. Have a great day. π
Excellent! I love to just visit that place, and embrace the silence at times. To pray, to listen, or just let my heart breathe.
Thanks JohnLee, that place may be different for everyone, but in that place that inspires you to write is a magical place. Keep your quill wet. ππ
