Jealousy , a witch in disguise,
A gateway to hate and despise,
Envy clouds emotions and soul,
It crushes life once and for all.
A veil on mind, shadow on heart,
Creating an ocean of deep hurt,
Like a snake, it poisons roots,
Peace and happiness, it loots.
Omnipresent in our daily deeds,
Pervasive negative spirit it feeds,
Useless thoughts swirling in daze,
As we brood on how others amaze.
Shunting the bright light in you,
Making it hard to realise a few,
You are unique, you are true,
You're not your envy, You are you.

- Comment from author about the poem: "In this poem, I reflect on the destructive nature of jealousy and how it can overshadow our own unique strengths and qualities. I encourage you to remember that you are more than the envy you might feel. Each of us has a distinct light and potential that should not be dimmed by comparing ourselves to others. Cherish your individuality and let your true self shine."

That is such a beautiful message.
"You are not your envy, You are you"
Thank you for appreciating the message. It's so important to remember that we are much more than our fleeting emotions or thoughts, like envy. Keep celebrating who you are!
I read somewhere that envy and jealousy are different. Now I forgot what I read! lol.
An encouraging read novellaa. Well said. 😉👍
