Fish on! The captain calls.
We pull the line, dress the fish
then pack it on ice.
Then I'm back to the bow,
waves slapping the boat
the horizon is where the sea
kisses the sky.
I say my prayers there,
or just speak within
my longing heart.
We dock, the crew
hurries to off-load the
fish for the market.
The lighthouse keeper
let's me hang out on
the gallery deck.
There I meditate and write,
to forget about when my
life was wrecked.
Are you coming along? She calls.
Yes my love I answer, just a
little longer I'll be home.

Excellent write JohnLee. I grew up in a seaside fishing town with two lighthouses. They are very inspirational. 😊👍
Thank you! There's just a certain romance attached to a lighthouse..
