Carrying on

Nicole Pritchard

Whenever I’m at my lowest point

I think about you

All that you have gone through

Reminds me that I can carry on

No matter how hard it gets

You’re the one that picks me back up

A friendship like ours is hard to find

Your courage to carry on

Always gives me a push

I sometimes forget

You always remind me

That I have you as a friend

We may be very different

However, we are very much the same

Reminds me that I have strength to carry on

Thank you for being my friend

You gave me the strength

When I needed you the most

By just being there

You showed me how to carry on

Thank you for being there

When I needed you the most

  • Comment from author about the poem: This past December one of my children was in the hospital. She was in very critical condition. I truly felt very defeated. But this person truly helped me pick myself back up and guided me in the right direction.
