Through battles fought, through years we've yearned,
A path of love, together we learned.
Twenty-two years of joys and trials,
In every memory, your love beguiles.
Once a whisper, now proudly spoken,
The vows we've shared, a promise unbroken.
In the heart of October, the day so fine,
The thirty-first, in two thousand eleven's line.
In the midst of summer, a proposal was made,
In the city of dreams, under the skyscraper's shade.
A question posed with a heart full of love,
An answer given, as soft as a dove.
Your voice, a melody, your words, a song,
In your arms, my dear, I forever belong.
Eleven years since we wore the bands,
Sanctified by law, sealed by our hands.
From New York, a beacon, leading the way,
That memorable, resplendent day.
Our love ascended, reaching to heaven,
A commitment made, a bond woven.
Twenty-two years, in heart, my wife,
Through shadows and light, through strife and life.
Twelve years since the law concurred,
Yet from day one, my love, your word.
A tale woven into a larger tapestry,
A fight for love, a fight for liberty.
From whispers to roars, our love prevailed,
On a ship of dreams together we sailed.
And today, I honor you, my dearest heart,
Our love story, a timeless work of art.
On this day, to you I toast,
My partner, my love, whom I cherish the most.
