Chains

Mutt

I've been here before as many times as the moon has risen

seeing the blooming of the flowers through the midnight fog, and raindrops soft as snow-flakes glistening in

with my feet full of dead leaves and my mind acting as a prison

Staring at the twilight sky, with a face so thin

As the midnight comes, I know the sun is going to rise for me,

to shed light again, the moon, it will fade away

and break this prison free

so that I can survive another day

to live and to break from the past, kept locked away behind my eyes

the chains that have kept me from life as we know,

The stories told in lies, and lives untold

and now i can finally look upon the mirror and see myself grow

And while its been hard, i will try to move on,

as the dawn mist is falling down, and as i see the sun rise

the chains begin to crumble, that were holding me down

the skies let the light shine, and i can finally break free from his lies
