KNOWING AND WAITING

nephilim56

Walking the corridors
Of the hospital at night
You dying in a coma
Outside the bright light.

My tears were frozen
My breathing deep
Knowing and waiting
For your eternal sleep.

You fought for so long
Even now in that cloak
Mind still alert
In that dark comatose.

Finally it ended
Me at your side
All those cramped up tears
Yet to be cried.

Deeply felt I feel, but deeply relevant to us all. A universal experience for most, I believe.

    Spare but complete.
