Spring Winds

Joakim Bergen

Still holier

The winds sound

Quarreling among the branches

In tuneless song

Carrying memories

Joy an’ sorrow

Thru lands unknown

And unsuspecting hearts

Blessed an’ pure

Are unwittingly caught

In this crossfire

Oh, how they bleed

Crimson

Fiery

Fierce

The Sun follows

The melody

Down, down

Into the sea

Spills itself

And dead goes down

Into the abyss

Where hearts, sorrowful

Sleep.
