Dalit Mother

Dr.Suryaraju Mattimalla

Mother, I have seen you as an untouchable mother.
You are living with millions of years of religious sanctions against you.
Hinduism and its practitioners are humiliating you, even though you are a human being.

Mother, even though you are socially ostracized,
Religiously persecuted, socially boycotted, lynched, raped,
dismembered, and genocided over and over again and again for millions of years.

Mother, you never stop practicing your highest level of nonviolence,
democratic principles and rational thinking in our ghettos even though
Hindus and Muslims alike are raping you and killing you for centuries.

Mother, I have never seen you with wealth and properties.
But I saw you as a mother of humanity and human values.

Mother, I saw you while Hindus were raping you mercilessly.
But still, you are fighting democratically, unlike any mother in the world.

Mother, I saw you as a mother of self-respect and dignity.
without bending your head in front of Hindus and their allies.

Mother, I saw you always upholding human values.
even though you were dehumanized by Hindutva communities.

Mother, I have never seen you in an illicit or illegal sexual relationship
unlike any Hindu, Western, African, or Muslim mother.

Mother, you became a symbol of purity.
When Hindus marry and see you as an Arundhati star,

Mother, even though 500 million Hindu women are living
Nobody could become a symbol of purity but you, Arundhati Mother.

Arundhati Mother, you are a pure mother without touching a man.
Other than my father, unlike any mother on this earth.

Mother, I saw you always teaching me and my sister to have ethics and morality.
unlike any mother who teaches immorality and an unethical way of life.

Mother I saw you as a mother of poverty, but
I saw you as a rich mother of human values.

Mother, I saw you as a modern mother, even in ancient times.
Mother, I never see you as an inhuman mother like a Hindu mother.
Who kills her babies when her babies love our untouchable castes?

When the Hindu mother became a symbol of impurity and violence
You became a symbol of purity and nonviolence, my Arundhati mother.

  • Comment from author about the poem: “Never Again, 2010, July 4, 2023”. 2010 is the year my first unnamed baby was a victim of honor killing in India. It is Hindu terrorism against humanity. July 4, 2023, is the date when my second baby boy, Stanford Suryaraju Mattimalla, was killed by a forceful vaccination by a German gynecologist in Germany.
